The sun sets behind Mitten Ridge. In the distance to the left of Mitten Ridge is Chimney Rock with Capitol Butte to the right. Merry-Go-Round is formed by a layer of relatively erosion resistant rock known as Ft. Apached Limestone deposited by an ancient inland sea. The road leading up Schnebly Hill connects with Interstate 17. The road is, however, not paved and can be quite punishing for passenger vehicles. Nevertheless, the sunset view makes the journey worth the effort.
